Don't let the inner bitch win
Do something hard, that’s what Joe Rogan is saying in podcast episode 2131
Minute mark 51:50 “I beat the inner bitch. I conquered the inner bitch.” Joe Rogan.
The paraphrase, I will summarize in 3 points.
Your brain atrophies when you do less.
You get anxious when you do nothing.
You must fight against your fear.
I’m a Therapist licensed for clinical work in the state of Illinois, and I own my Life Coach. I am very aware, by the nature of my work, of the presenting problem sets that are anxiety and depression.
Joe Rogan is right.
Anxiety and depression are complex, but you can combat both with those three things.
Let’s break it down.
ATROPHY
If you buy into negative messaging, you start believing that you’re a piece of sh!t which leads to low motivation to improve yourself. You allow atrophy, you do nothing and feel worse. It’s a vicious cycle.
ANXIETY
People think that it’s the actions that cause you to feel anxious. I’m not so sure. I think that the lack of action, is what’s making you feel the most anxious. When you start doing things, participating, creating and acting on things, you have less time to ruminate. You have less time to wallow in negativity. I really think that you must act first, the feelings will follow. I don’t believe that you need to wait to “feel ready” or wait to “feel good” before you act. I push my clients to act first, the feeling will follow. The feeling is often the last to come after actions + thoughts. You won’t feel less anxious by waiting, you’ll feel more anxious. Vicious cycle.
FIGHT
In my work, there’s the trifecta response that individuals resort to when under stress and duress: fight, flight, freeze. That’s nice. We can talk ad nauseum about terms and definitions. Necessary, yes. First, you need to know what’s going on to Second, tackle what’s going on. But although it’s nice to understand the terms, it’s not the fix. You want to right your life, then you need to fight. That’s the mantra I’ve been pushing hard, since 2019, in thousands of posts. That’s not an exaggeration, on the Truth Social platform, I have 15.7k truths that I’ve personally made in a little over 2-years time. I was deleted off Twitter, but I was prolific on that site too. I am consistent, the messaging that I’ve put out, has been to fight fear.
Joe Rogan is right.
He says that when he does the cold plunge, he’s conquering the inner bitch.
I don’t care how you do it, get this done.
Fight the inner bitch.
Don’t let anxiety and depression win.
Conquer your fears.
Joe Rogan is explaining that when you do something hard, that’s the antidote to atrophy and anxiety. I’ve paraphrased in this Substack, but that’s what Joe’s describing.
You don’t have to do things like anyone else. Simply take what you’re afraid of, and tackle that. Do it. Now.
The pride you will feel, that you pushed past your fears, will enable you to develop Confidence Not the faux bravado of beta males like Andrew Tate You want real confidence backed by competence, that you have inner belief in yourself and you value yourself for real. You will be proud, when its real.
Do something hard.
Always push yourself.
Fight back.
That’s how you win more than you lose.
That’s how you conquer your inner bitch.
DO THE HARD THING
