It’s OK to put your best foot forward.
There’s nothing wrong with dressing to impress.
Making an effort is a good thing.
Whether it’s your personal or professional life, having social graces and emotional intelligence, is a good thing.
But there’s a fine line between first impressions and flaunting things that are false.
You must get your foot in the door, but you must also show authenticity too.
Then let the chips fall where they may.
People do need to discover the real you.
You do want people to like you, for who you actually are.
Respect to those who are authentically themselves.
Case in point, President Trump didn’t want to sit on the pillow that was placed on his seat, even though it would have made him the same height as President Xi Jinping. This is an example, of showcasing your real self as well as your real height, not hiding how you look, letting the chips fall where they may.
Although you should initially impress, and it’s OK to make an effort, also allow for authenticity too.
Let the chips fall where they may.
Let people see the real you, let others decide for themselves about you.
